We use the present continuous:
- for things happening at the moment. Ex: What are you reading?
- for temporary situations. Ex: You arren't watching the football. >>>> This means that this is not what usually happens: you usually watch the football but in this practice session, you aren't watching it, and this is causing problem.
- for fixed arrangements. Ex: She's going to a tennis camp this summer.
- an unusual use of the present continuous with always. Ex: He's always helping other people. >>>> This means that he helps people more than you would expect, more than is normal.
